Who says Valentines Day treats are just for humans? We’re always looking for new ways to show our four-legged friends a little extra love, and we think these homemade dog biscuits are a paws-itively great way to do it! They’re guaranteed to get two paws up from your best friend. After all, the quickest way to pup’s heart is through his stomach.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cubes beef bouillon
  • 1½ C boiling water
  • 2 C whole wheat flour
  • 1 C rolled oats
  • 2/3 C brewers yeast
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 eggs

Directions

1. Dissolve beef bouillon in boiling water and set aside.

2. Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl. Gradually add eggs and bouillon/water mixture. Combine until all ingredients are incorporated, and work it until it forms a doughy texture.

3. Roll the dough out on a flat, floured surface. Using a cookie cutter (heart-shaped, for Valentine’s day, of course!), cut out biscuits and place on a baking sheet lined with wax paper.

4. Bake for 20 minutes at 375°. Turn oven off and let sit in hot oven for 3 hours, or overnight to harden. Store in an airtight container.
